Beneficiaries of pensions, social benefits to get one-off aid worth 1,500 lei

Chisinau, 23 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Over 660,000 people, beneficiaries of pensions and social benefits established until 1 October will receive one-off aid worth 1,500 lei. The government approved a decision on the matter at today's meeting in Cahul, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The measure, initiated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection is meant for people residing in Moldova, who benefit from state pensions and allowances with a monthly amount of less than 5,000 lei and aims to support pensioners with low incomes in the context of the current crises.

The one-off aid will be granted from 1 October through payment service providers that ensure the payment of state pensions and social allowances, and will be able to be withdrawn by late 2023.

About 1 billion lei was earmarked from the state budget, the amount being provided for in the budget amendment.
