Moldovan president meets German minister for economic cooperation and development

Chisinau, 23 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has met Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany Svenja Schulze, during her working visit to Berlin, the presidential press service has reported.
Also today, the head of state had a discussion with the members of the Committee on European Affairs of the Bundestag, as well as with the head of the Committee on European affairs Michel Roth, and with the spokesperson for foreign policy of the parliamentary group of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), Niels Schmidt.
President Maia Sandu and Minister Svenja Schulze discussed the bilateral cooperation and the assistance programmes for development, underway in Moldova with the support of Germany. The head of state said that they helped the country in carrying out the reforms and improving the Moldovan citizens’ living conditions.
In the discussion with the members of the Bundestag’s Committee on European Affairs, the head of state thanked for the support provided to Moldova by Germany in the process of getting the status of country candidate for EU. President Maia Sandu said that Moldova was resolute to speed up the reforms, in order to strengthen the democracy and develop the economic sector, which will get the country closer to the EU’s living standards.
