Customs Service collected over 745 million lei last week

Chisinau, 26 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- On September 19-25, the Customs Service collected over 745.8 million lei (about 37.2 million euros) to the state budget, up by 12.4% than the budgetary burden for this period.

According to the Customs Service, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeds the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to more than 7.6 million lei were collected, which represents 2.8% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.

Also, the past week, 11,506 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 81,172 crossings.

In the fight against fraud, 68 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 217 thousand lei were applied.

Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 23.9 billion lei to the state budget, up by 21.2% compared to the same period last year.
