Chisinau, 26 September /MOLDPRES/ - The European Union and the International Trade Centre, in partnership with the Economics Ministry, today launched the trade assistance platform of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) for the business community of Moldova.
Through the new platform, EaP Trade Helpdesk (https://eap.tradehelpdesk.org/ro for the Romanian language and https://eap.tradehelpdesk.org/ru for the Russian language), representatives of the public and private sector will have access to commercial information, which will contribute to the boosting of commerce between the countries of the Eastern Partnership and the European Union.
The state secretary of the Economics Ministry, Vadim Gumene, said the platform would represent an efficient information space for all sides involved in international trade. ‘’The enterprises from the Eastern Partnership member states, including Moldova, will have enhanced access to truthful and transparent commercial information on the EaP and EU region. Thus, the online assistance centre will allow enterprises to report problems concerning the export and import and get practical solutions from the competent authorities,’’ Vadim Gumene said.
For his part, the adviser on trade issues at the EU Delegation in Moldova, Vasile Plamadeala, noted that the use of the Trade Helpdesk platform would allow turning to account all opportunities and the unused export potential. ‘’This will favour the identification of new markets and products for commerce in the region of the Eastern Partnership and in EU, providing easier access to the European market,’’ Plamadeala said.
The European Union is the biggest export market for Moldovan products and has an increase potential by 20 per cent higher in the next five years. This might favour an additional export of 1.12 billion euros.
