Moldovan-German cooperation in defence sector to be consolidated

Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/ - Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii and Defence Minister of Germany Christine Lambrecht held press statements on the Moldovan-German cooperation in the defence sector in Chisinau today.
During the press statements, the two officials informed about the programmes and initiatives launched by the National Army with the help of the German government, perspectives of the bilateral cooperation, as well as about the security situation in Moldova and the region, in the context of the war in Ukraine, sources of the Defence Ministry said.
According to Minister Nosatii, the defence institutions of Germany and Moldova have covered a long way since the establishment of the partnership. These years were marked by achievements and commitments, a wide spectrum of joint bilateral activities implemented through international organizations.
”We want to strengthen the bilateral cooperation relations through new projects of common interest, aimed at turning the National Army into a modern institution, well-equipped, able to fulfill its mission of defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova, given that our country presently faces a string of challenges, including in terms of security and defence,’’ Anatolie Nosatii said at the press event.
