Head of state, Germany's Ambassador discuss Moldovan-German cooperation

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met Ambassador of Germany to Moldova, Her Excellency Margret Maria Uebber, the presidential press service has reported.
In the beginning of the meeting, the head of state congratulated the German diplomat on the German Unity Day, marked on 3 October. President Maia Sandu said that Germany was one of the most important commercial partners of Moldova and one of the biggest investors in the Moldovan economy. Also, the head of state thanked for the regional infrastructure projects, carried out by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in settlements from all over the country and which contribute to the well-being of the Moldovan citizens.
The sides referred also to the present situation in Moldova, in the context of the war in Ukraine. Maia Sandu said the biggest problem currently dealt with the energy crisis and its impact on the economy and the citizens. In the context, the head of state voiced hope that the Moldova Support Platform, created by Germany along with France and Romania, would help enhance the country’s resilience on this difficult period.
