Moldovan electoral body approves electoral symbols of formations due to participate in new local polls

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today approved the electoral symbols of the political parties registered as electoral contenders at the new local polls due on 16 October, to be printed on ballot papers.
According to CEC, eight candidates on behalf of six political parties have been recorded for the ballot.
At the same time, CEC accredited eight national observers on behalf of the Promo-LEX Association, in order to monitor the new local elections. Another 12 people on behalf of the same organization have been accredited earlier. The deadline for submitting applications on accreditation is seven days before the election day, i.e. 9 October.
Also, CEC informed that applications on the voting at the place of stay can be submitted till 15 October inclusively.
New local elections on 16 October will be held in three settlements of Moldova – Salcuta village (Causeni district), communes Ialpujeni (Cimislia district) and Braniste (Rascani district).
