Moldovan cabinet approves lists of pupils, students due to receive merit scholarships in 2022-2023 academic year

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/ - Seventy seven merit scholarships will be provided to pupils and students in the 2022-2023 academic year, in order to support and promote the academic performances among young people and for their active involvement in Moldova’s social and economic life. The cabinet approved a decision to this end today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, the following merit scholarships are to be provided in the 2022-2023 academic year:
Scholarship of the Republic – 12 scholarships, worth 1,755 lei each, for the students of the cycle I, cycle II, integrated education, medical and pharmaceutical education in the higher education institutions;
Scholarship of the Government – 30 scholarships, worth 1,460 lei, for students of the cycle I, cycle II, integrated education, medical and pharmaceutical education in the higher education institutions;
Scholarship of Moldova’s President - 15 scholarships, of which 10 (1,595 lei) for students of the cycle I, cycle II, integrated education, medical and pharmaceutical education in the higher education institutions and 5 scholarships (1,235 lei) for students of the post-secondary vocational education institutions and non-tertiary post-secondary ones;
The Gaudeamus scholarship 20 scholarships, worth 1,060 lei, for pupils of the post-secondary vocational education institutions and non-tertiary post-secondary ones.
The providing of merit scholarships fits into the policies promoted by the governance for strengthening the higher education system and aligning it with the EU standards, as well as into the policies for ensuring the enhancement of the national and international attractiveness and competitiveness of the higher education institutions and vocational educations institutions from Moldova, through backing the performance and meritocracy.
