Moldova to deliver test consignment of 100 tons of apples to India

Chisinau, 6 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today had a meeting with Bucharest-based Ambassador of India to Moldova, His Excellency Rahul Shrivastava. The officials discussed aspects concerning the consolidation of the agenda of Moldovan-Indian economic cooperation and strengthening the bilateral diplomatic relations, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
At the meeting, the sides discussed possibility to facilitate the export of Moldovan farming products, especially of apples and dry fruits to the market of India and Moldova’s inclusion in the Plants Quarantine Order. To get the export authorization, Moldova will deliver a test consignment of 100 tons of apples to India this month.
The PM suggested the extension of the investment relations between the two states. In the context, Natalia Gavrilita referred to the present advantages provided by Moldova to investors, such as the free economic zones, simplified customs procedures, export to EU without taxes. The Indian ambassador highlighted the intention of more entrepreneurs from India to make investments in more regions of Moldova.
At the same time, the sides reviewed aspects regarding the bilateral cooperation in the social and education sectors. It is worth noting that over 800 students from India study in Moldova and the popularity of the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy is continuously growing among the students from India.
The officials welcomed a visit scheduled to New Delhi by the Moldovan diplomacy head and appreciated the positive dynamic of the diplomatic relations between the two states, established 30 years ago.
