Moldovan parliament amends Law on Prosecutor's Office

Chisinau, 6 October /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today adopted amendments to the Law on Prosecutor’s Office. The document was worked out in the context of fulfilling the recommendations of the Venice Commission.

Thus, the members of the commission for the evaluation of the Prosecutor General must have experience in the prosecution system, in order to provide a balanced, independent and comprehensive evaluation. Also, the criteria of evaluation of the Prosecutor General will be regulated.

The legislative amendments voted also regard particular aspects related to the interim duties of the office of the Prosecutor General and the appointment to office of deputies in the specialized prosecutor’s offices.
