President requested Moldovan borders be respected

Chisinau, Oct. 11 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu today demanded that the borders of the Republic of Moldova be respected. The request was made in the context in which three air targets launched by Russia towards Ukraine flew over our country's airspace yesterday.

At a press briefing, the official said the action was a flagrant violation of the airspace and neutrality of our country by the Russian armed forces. "Yesterday, Russia launched a massive missile attack against civilian targets and infrastructure objects that are critical to the population. The bombing and killing of innocent people is a war crime that we strongly condemn. During the attack, several missiles crossed our country's airspace without authorization. The Republic of Moldova is a peaceful country that respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of other countries. We have said this every time and we have demonstrated this fact through actions, that is why we demand that our borders be respected as well", said Maia Sandu.

The head of state said that the authorities are doing everything to preserve peace and tranquility in the country. The official noted that "pressures are increasing daily, and attempts to destabilize the situation in the country are becoming more frequent."

"Our duty is not to allow ourselves to be manipulated and provoked by those who want war and chaos. We will not allow the destabilization of the situation in the country and the division of society. Criminal groups want to create a conflict situation in order to overthrow public order and gain power so that Russia can use our country in war. Thieves involve people to achieve their goals. Don't be under any illusions, you won't succeed. Treason will be severely punished. We thank the police because they managed to maintain public order, without violence, during the protests organized and financed by thieves. The tents have been removed from the road, but the provocative actions continue", said Maia Sandu.

In the context of the current situation, the official asked the Government to examine the temporary amendment of the legislation, which will allow the police to ensure public order. The head of state emphasized that the authorities are making every effort to ensure peace, stability and order in the country.
