Chisinau, Oct. 11 /MOLDPRES/- From 11 October at 03:00 in the morning, the Republic of Moldova receives full electricity from MGRES power plant. This is possible because MoldovaGaz has additionally allocated 0.9 million m3 of gas to MGRES to produce the electricity needed for 24 hours, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development announced today.
"Yesterday, 10 October over 80 criminal Russian missiles hit the neighboring country of Ukraine, taking lives and causing terrible destruction. Some of these missiles hit the energy infrastructure and caused the stoppage of electricity exports to the European Union and the Republic of Moldova. Our country is directly affected by the Russian terrorist bombings on Ukraine, given that we purchase 30% of the electricity from the neighboring country", Spînu said.
According to the official, now our priority is to provide the country for the next period with electricity at the lowest possible price in this complicated situation.
"Yesterday we had discussions with Ukraine, Romania, the European Union to find together a good solution for Moldovans. I will continue to inform citizens and the media about our actions. Electricity is important and we will try to solve the problems that arise together. But people's lives are the most important, the most expensive. I express my sincere condolences to the Ukrainians who lost loved ones in these attacks. The Republic of Moldova is with the Ukrainian people", Andrei Spînu said.
