Compensatii.gov.md platform launched

Chisinau, Oct. 12 /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection launched today the online platform www.compensatii.gov.md. Through it, the energy vulnerability categories of citizens will be established and compensations for energy bills will be paid.

During the launch event, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Marcel Spatari pointed out that the platform was launched this morning and in just a few hours more than 3,000 people registered on it.

"Registration in the information system will be carried out in two ways: individually or assisted, with the help of librarians or social workers. At the same time, we urge young people to support the elderly in this process. Also, an instructional video was released to help citizens. In the first stage, people will be able to register until November 25. The first compensations will be included in the invoices of December, for the consumption of November", said Marcel Spatari.

The Minister said that the Government will present, in November, the exact value of the compensations for each category of vulnerability. "The money will be granted from the Energy Vulnerability Fund. In this sense, 870 million lei (about 43.5 million euros) were allocated for compensations in November. In November, last year, compensations were paid in the amount of 230 million lei, which means that, this year, the fund was increased about three times. According to the calculations, the compensations would allow the gas price to be reduced, on average, by 12-13 lei", said Marcel Spatari.

The official also said that the hotline - 0 8000 5000 was launched, to which citizens can call to ask questions regarding the registration process in the information system. At the same time, tenants and refugees from Ukraine can also register on the platform.

For the cold period of the year, about five billion lei will be allocated from the Energy Vulnerability Fund for compensation.

The creation of the platform cost 100 thousand euros, money granted by the development partners.
