Moldovan wines, brandies to be reach shelves of shops from Azerbaijan

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s delegation, which on participated in a meeting with Azeri business people on 11 October, has recorded positive results, negotiating several advantageous contracts on the spot, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The Barza Albă (The White Stork) stock company signed a contract on distribution with a certain network of hypermarkets from Azerbaijan, which presently has over 100 sale points. Thus, the first consignment of Moldovan brandies is scheduled to reach the shelves of Azeri shops in early next November.
Also in Baku, at the meeting of Moldovan and Azeri business people, the sides discussed possibility of signing a contract on the distribution of products of the Milestii Mici winery, central Ialoveni town.
Presently, products of the Cricova winery can be found on the market from Azerbaijan. In this respect, the sides brought for discussion the segment on widening the assortment in the points where Moldovan wines and sparkling wines are already commercialized. During her working visit to Azerbaijan this week, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita visited a shop of the Cricova wine-making stock company, opened in the Azeri capital.
Unlike the 2020 year, when about 26,000 litres of Moldovan strong drinks worth 127,000 dollars reached the shelves of Azeri commercial units, in 2021, the export of Moldovan wines and brandies to Azerbaijan amounted to about 143,000 litres, worth 335,000 dollars.
