Moldova to receive grant for budgetary support on behalf of Romania

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s Finance Ministry and Romania’s International Development Cooperation Agency (RoAid) today signed an agreement on financing for the providing of a direct budgetary support to Moldova.

Under the Agreement, Moldova will receive financial assistance in form of budgetary support on behalf of the Romanian state worth 50 million Romanian lei (about 10 million euros).

„The money is meant for achieving goals of international cooperation for development and humanitarian assistance, especially for the overcoming of the economic crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine, with urgent needs identified for settling the problems faced by Moldova in the management of the crisis situations and on/in the energy sector through indispensable measures, such as: buying natural gas and coal, as well as other energy efficiency measures,’’ the Moldovan Finance Ministry said.
