Moldovan-Egyptian economic forum inaugurated in Cairo

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/ - The first Moldovan-Egyptian economic forum has been inaugurated during the first working visit to Cairo by a foreign affairs minister of Moldova.
„I was pleased to participate in the meeting of business people from Moldovan and Egypt. Before the current challenges, we are with the entrepreneurs for the diversification of markets and increasing the exports and I am sure that, following this event, our products will be present on the Egyptian market,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said, quoted by the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service.
The participants in the forum signed a protocol on cooperation between the Cairo Chamber of Commerce and Moldova’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
„We thank everybody those who backed MAEIE’s initiative to organize this economic forum on the sidelines of the visit to Cairo by the official delegation: Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova, USAID Moldova, as well as those 20 representatives of the business environment and competent associations who are in Egypt on these days,’’ the Moldovan official noted.
Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu paid a working visit to Cairo. This is the first visit to Egypt by a high-ranking official since the establishment of the Moldovan-Egyptian diplomatic relations on 13 February 1992.
