Salary payments in public sector to be distributed through MPay system in Moldova

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/ - The units with financial autonomy and the public sector ones will distribute the salary payments to employees’ accounts through the MPay governmental service of electronic payments. At a today’s plenary meeting, the MPs voted, in the second reading, a draft on the amendment of the law on salary payment and the law on the single system of salary payment in the public sector.  

The adoption of the amendments will foster the technical equipment of the process of distribution of salary and social payments, contributing to the reduction of the public institutions’ operational effort and will diminish the expenses dealing with the transfer operations.  

The distribution of salaries at the employees’ accounts of payments by the public sector units through the MPay system will be compulsory and will be made through the Electronic Governance Agency. Presently, 26 types of social benefits are distributed through MPay, through all the 11 commercial banks working in Moldova, as well as two non-bank providers, including the state enterprise Posta Moldovei (Moldova’s Post).  

This way is currently used at the distribution of state social benefits.  

The normative act will enter into force on 1 January 2024.
