Moldovan president welcomes girls, women working in IT sector in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 15 October participated in the third edition of Tech Women Summit. The event brought together women and girls from Moldova, who work in the IT sector – programmers, engineers, graphic designers and software designers, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state informed the participants who came to the summit, including from Cahul, Balti or Comrat, about her political experience and the way she had succeeded, despite the stereotypes or hatred discourse, which still persists in the Moldovan society. President Maia Sandu encouraged them that, whatever they do, they should not be afraid of challenges and persevere, in order to turn to good account their talent and knowledge and to embrace the profession wished. According to President Maia Sandu, we need the involvement of as many women as possible in all sector of the public life and the access of girls and women to professions in promising sectors of the economy will give better possibilities of development both to them and the state.
At the event, President Maia Sandu conveyed a message of gratitude also to the women living in villages, as the International Day of Rural Women was marked on 15 October. The head of state thanked them for the self-denial with which they worked to support the families and communities from Moldova and for their energy needed, which helps us edify a better country.
