First project of European Village program launched in Revaca

Chisinau, Oct. 17 /MOLDPRES/- First social infrastructure project under the European Village program, a soccer field, was put into operation yesterday in Revaca village, a locality that is part of Sângera city.
"The 3,500 residents, including secondary school pupils, children, young people and adults will benefit from a modern sports infrastructure. The land was built in the courtyard of the gymnasium in the locality, it has an area of 1500 m2 and has stands, lawn, protective fence and all the facilities for athletes", the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) said.
The project accounts for 2.1 million lei (about one hundred thousand euros), money allocated from the National Regional and Local Development Fund. "Following the construction of the football field, over 1,300 pupils of educational institutions in Sângera and Revaca can already carry out sports competitions and other socio-educational activities", according to MIDR.
After the official launch of the event, the first football match was played on the field, between the local teams, in which Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development also played.
The project selected within the European Village National Program is part of Measure 2.3 Construction and renovation of social infrastructure, which also includes 71 other projects.
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu announced in March about the launch of the European Village program. This year, the program has a budget of 470 million lei. Another 300 million lei from the program were allocated to regional development projects.
