Chisinau to host 31st international new music festival

Chisinau, Oct. 17 /MOLDPRES/- The 31st edition of the New Music Days International Festival will be held in Chisinau between October 19-24. The event is organized by the Union of Composers and Musicologists from Moldova (UCMM) in partnership with the Teleradio-Moldova Company, the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic, the Organ Hall, the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts.
President of the Union of Composers and Musicologists from Moldova Paul Gamurari said that the fascinating music belonging to international composers from Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, France, Germany, Romania, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova will be performed by world-renowned musicians.
The Union of Composers and Musicologists is a professional organization, public association with an age of 82 years. UCMM currently has 86 members - professional composers and musicologists, many of whom enjoy international recognition. Over the years UCMM has implemented cultural-artistic projects in partnership with the Council of Europe, the British Council, the Goethe Institute, the Romanian Cultural Institute, the International Society of Contemporary Music, the Canadian Arts Council, various foundations, with USAID, the Union of Composers and Musicologists from Romania and others. Since 1991 UCMM has been the main organizer of the event, held in partnership with the Teleradio-Moldova Company, the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic, the Organ Hall and the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts.
