Moldovan parliament speaker has meeting with president of Czech Republic's Chamber of Deputies

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today had a meeting with President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic’s Parliament Markéta Pekarová Adamová, on an official visit to Chisinau. The visit, which takes place in a complicated moment both for Moldova and for the entire region, is a sign of solidarity with the citizens of Moldova, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The main subject of the discussions was Moldova’s European integration. The parliament speaker thanked the Czech Republic for the support provided to Moldova in the European integration. ‘’The European dream is our national project, the project of our generation, for which we will work along with my colleagues from the Government and Presidency. We rely on the support of the Czech Republic, especially now, when it holds the European Union’s Presidency,’’ Igor Grosu said.
At the meeting, the parliament speaker stressed that Moldova’s agenda remained, in continuation, an ambitious one, with the priority being the justice reform, which will allow the edification of strong institutions, which will never be able to be seized by corrupt groups. Another priority will be the attraction of sound investments in the economy, which would generate successful enterprises and jobs. To implement this, predictability should be ensured, an independent justice and an attractive environment for quality investors, the parliament speaker noted.
Another priority to which the speaker referred was the ensuring of energy security. He specified that the authorities would further act firmly to diversify Moldova’s supply with gas and consolidate the energy efficiency. The speaker noted that the government would help at the payment of invoices through compensations, just as it did it last year. ‘’Even in these difficult periods, we know that we are not alone, that we have good friends and reliable partners, which will help Moldova get out of this complicated winter well,’’ the parliament speaker said.
The officials also discussed the boosting of the inter-parliamentary dialogue between the two countries. The parliament speaker highlighted Moldova’s openness to take over the experience of the Czech Republic of accession to EU. ‘’Our interest is to promote Moldova, to open new doors for our country, so that the entire world sees us as a country which knows what it wants and will succeed – a partner country among the European states,’’ Igor Grosu said.
