Monthly allowances for several population categores to increase

Chisinau, Oct. 19 /MOLDPRES/- People with disabilities from the World War II and combat actions to defend the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova could receive higher allowances. A draft law in this sense was submitted by Speaker Igor Grosu, the head of the Social Protection, Health and Family Commission, Dan Perciun and the member of the National Security, Defense and Public Order Commission, Boris Marcoci.

The draft sees an increase in the amount of the monthly state allowance for persons with disabilities following the Second World War and combat actions for the defense of the territorial integrity and independence of Moldova, the surviving spouses of participants in the World War II or actions of fighting in peacetime, fallen into debt. In addition, the persons who were classified as disabled as a result of participating in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, the spouses of those who died or their children, until reaching the age of 18 or after this age, if their continue studies in educational institutions.

The increase is also provided for one of the parents of the participants in the combat actions during peacetime or in the combat actions for the defense of the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova who fell into debt, but also for other categories. The increase by 250 lei is to be made starting from January 1, 2023. The necessary expenses for carrying out the social measure are 90.6 million lei.

The draft amendment to the Law on the additional social protection of certain categories of the population was approved today by the Economy, Budget and Finance Committee, the National Security, Defense and Public Order Committee and is to be voted on in the plenary session of the Legislature.
