Chisinau, Nov. 1 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development announced yesterday evening that for November no electricity supply contract was signed with MGRES, and the energy situation for this month will be supported by other suppliers.
"Energocom signed the following contracts on power supply for November: the contract with OMV Petrom was extended for 50 MWh for November; the contract with Nuclearelectrica was extended for 35 MWh for November; 5530 MWh of electricity was purchased from OPCOM (the Romanian electricity exchange). An electricity delivery contract was not signed with MGRES, and for 1 November we have an uncontracted power shortage of about 4070 MWh", Spînu said.
The official also said that in November, Gazprom confirmed only 5.7 million m3 of gas per day for our country, which represents 51% of the agreed volumes under the contract. This volume will be distributed as follows: 3.4 million m3 per day for the right bank and 2.3 million per day for the left bank. The Transnistrian region will receive over 40% less than in October. "Energocom purchased another 27 million m3 of gas from the market. In total, the strategic gas reserve is about 127 million m3", he said.
"Reducing electricity consumption is extremely important. Please continue the national saving effort. We have many good examples, but I am sure that there is still room for responsibility", said Spînu.
