Moldovan parliament hosts charity exhibition of paintings, made by Moldovan children, refugees from Ukraine

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament hosts a charity exhibition of paintings, made by children of Moldova and refugees from Ukraine. The paintings are put to auction starting from today and the money raised will be used for managing the needs of the refugees who are in Moldova.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the works were made at a painting workshop, in which 26 children participated, guided by fine artists Elvira Cemortan-Voloșin, Aliona Lavrinenco and Viorica Gribincea. Painted in the colours of peace, optimism and hope for the better, the original works by children attracted the attention of lawmakers and will colour the atmosphere in their offices.
The exhibition titled, Art for support of peace, will be opened during this week. The MPs and parliament’s guests will be able to select the painting they like most of all and take it, after putting money for it in a box for donations.
After the launch of the auction, the children participating in the event made an excursion to the parliament, guided by lawmaker Marina Morozova.
The workshop took place within the project, Edification of peace through resilience of women, organizations and communities, implemented by Women’s Law Centre, in partnership with the National Coalition Life without Violence, with the support of UN Women and financed by the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund.
