Moldova has electricity shortage of 1698 MWh for today

Chisinau, Nov. 2 /MOLDPRES/- For today, Energocom company purchased from OPCOM (the Romanian Power Exchange) 7802 MWh, or the predicted shortage for 2 November is 1698 MWh. Other commercial contracts for electricity have not been signed, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development announced last night.
"No electricity delivery contract was signed with MGRES. On 2 November the right bank will not receive electricity from MGRES", he said.
At the same time, Spînu thanked the government institutions for the significant effort to reduce electricity consumption. According to the minister, the buildings managed by the Executive in October reduced electricity consumption by 23%, and in the Government house it was reduced by 30%.
The official also informed that another 15 million m3 of gas was purchased. "In total, Moldova currently has 142 million m3 of gas in reserve," the source said.
