Cases of respiratory infections increased last week, ANSP says

Chisinau, Nov. 2 /MOLDPRES/- Last week, the number of cases of acute upper tract infections (IACRS) increased by 17%. In total, 7,027 cases were registered, most of them in children - 65.7%.
According to the National Agency for Public Health, since the beginning of the flu season, two cases of flu infection have been confirmed, both in the capital.
Last week, a number of 402 samples, taken from people with signs compatible with seasonal flu and acute viral respiratory infections, were investigated for the presence of influenza, non-influenza and SARS-CoV-2 viruses in the ANSP laboratories.
ANSP announces that, currently immunization against influenza is carried out in several public medical and sanitary institutions. The vaccine is administered, as a matter of priority, to people from risk groups, those with chronic diseases and compromised immunity and pregnant women.
