Agricultural producers to benefit from VAT refund

Chisinau, Nov. 2 /MOLDPRES/- The state could refund the Value Added Tax (VAT) to agricultural producers to cover the debts of state taxes and duties owed by them. The parliamentary committee on economy, budget and finance approved a draft law on the matter today.

The draft aimed to reduce the negative impact of natural disasters, the increase in input prices and international logistics on economic agents in agriculture and food industry. Accordingly, the draft law provides for the launch of the VAT refund program from the taxpayer's account for the payment of taxes and duties owed by him to the state.

Economic agents working in the agriculture and who have suffered agricultural production losses of over 50%, on an area of at least 50% of the total land, as a result of the natural calamities this year will be considered eligible for the program.
