Moldovan cabinet approves new amendments as to work of Associations of Users of Water for Irrigation

Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved more amendments as to the exclusion of legal and administrative obstacles to the setting up and work of the Associations of Users of Water for Irrigation (AUAI), the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

Thus, the norms will be regulated concerning the creation of an association at the level of sector from the area of service of the centralized system of irrigation and the creation of an association which encompasses more irrigation systems. At the same time, the needed procedure and acts for the associations’ registration at the Public Services Agency (ASP) are established.     

Also, completions and regulations are envisaged as regards the accession of the new members to AUAI and of the cessation of the capacity of member, as well as the dissolution of the Association, when it is no longer necessary, through the summoning of a general assembly. The amendments include new norms concerning the rehabilitation and cancellation of the infrastructure, return of the assets at the expiration of the term for which they were transmitted for free of charge use and the responsibilities dealing with their destruction.    

The approval of the aforementioned amendments will boost the setting up and the work of the Associations of Users of Water for Irrigation and will ensure the access of water users/agricultural producers to irrigation.
