Border policemen counteract two attempts of getting currency, precious metals out from Moldova

Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/ - Border policemen, jointly with customs employees of the Chisinau International Airport today counteracted two attempts of fraudulent getting of currency and precious metals out from Moldova.
According to the Border Police, the assets were discovered during the control of passengers’ luggage on routes bound for Nice (France) and Rome (Italy).
In the first case, a 51-year-old woman from Ukraine was documented. Following the hand luggage control, objects resembling banknotes were noticed; subsequently the luggage was subjected to physical checking. Policemen detected financial means worth 30,000 U.S. dollars, which was to be illegally got out of Moldova. The financial means was raised and are liable to confiscation.
The second passenger documented is a 58-year-old citizen of Ukraine. The man selected the Nothing to Declare green corridor; yet, to exclude any suspicion, the person was redirected to the red corridor. Following the physical control, five ingots of golden colour and 11 coins were detected. The passenger said the undeclared articles were made of precious metals.
All undeclared assets were raised and the investigations on the two cases continue.
