Moldova pays up to 351 euros/MWH for electricity in evening

Chisinau, Nov. 3 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova pays between 184 and 351 euros/MWh for electricity in the evening hours. According to Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, 100 - 107 euros/MWh is paid for energy during the night; and 140 - 274 euros/MWh in the morning hours.
"Please keep saving. It's simple, the more we save during peak hours, the less we pay for electricity", said Spînu.
For today, Energocom purchased from OPCOM (the Romanian power exchange) 8040 MWh (65% of the required consumption), or the forecast shortage for 3 November is about 10%.
The official also informed that another 15 million m3 of gas was purchased. "In total, Moldova currently has 157 million m3 of stored gas," the cited source said.
The Board of Directors of the National Agency for Energy Regulation approved last night the new prices for electricity. Thus, from 4 November consumers of Premier Energy will pay 4.77 lei/kWh, and the population served by Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord will pay 4.81 lei/kWh.
