Moldovan president meets CALM representatives

Chisinau, Nov. 3 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu discussed yesterday with several representatives, members of the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova (CALM) about the energy crisis and its implications for people, the country's budget and the APL activity.
According to the presidential press service, the head of state appreciated the contribution of the majority of mayors to the effort to save energy resources, an effort that will allow us to save public money for development projects, including at the local level.
Maia Sandu asked them to help low-income people in their communities, especially the elderly, to register on the platform set by the government to get compensation. The president also spoke about the risks to state security, in the context of the war in Ukraine and the attempts of internal and external forces to destabilize the country.
CALM representatives addressed several issues related to APL activity. The sides agreed that there is a need for closer communication between local and central authorities to deal with crisis situations and security challenges in the state.
