Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today attended the event of marking the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the Institute of Mother and Child, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In her speech, the PM referred to the complicated period through which the medical institutions of Moldova had gone during the pandemic, as well as to the need to increase the salaries of the medical staff.
„The fact that the institution managed to continue its work in conditions of safety in the most difficult ordeal in its history is due to its over 2,000 employees, whose devotion deserves our high appreciation not only today, at the anniversary time, but every day. I am happy that we have managed – despite the complicated period through which we go – to ensure the increase in salaries for the medical employees. Starting from this month, the physicians will earn by 10 per cent more, on average,’’ the prime minister noted.
Natalia Gavrilita said that, along with Moldova’s development partners, major emphasis was put on the modernization of hospitals. ‘’The renovation of the hospital rooms and the endowment of the medical institutions of Moldova with new equipment has always been a priority concern for the cabinet I lead. I am sure that, having a reliable agenda of reforms, we can count, also from now on, on the foreign partners’ willing to support our efforts to improve the quality of the medical services, to modernize the hospitals and provide proper working conditions to those who carry out their activity in the health system,’’ the PM said.
During one year, the Institute of Mother and Child ensures the diagnosing, treatment, prophylaxis and rehabilitation of about 40,000 patients from all over Moldova. Moreover, in the last 8 months, the medical institution has provided quality medical assistance to 1,500 refugees from Ukraine, including received 60 births.
