Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today went to north Moldova, at Naslavcea, the settlement hit by Russian missiles launched to the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine. The head of state discussed with local residents, most of them elderly people, who had to go through horrible moments and whose homes remained without windows and with destroyed roofs, the presidential press service has reported.
Twenty one households were affected in all and the damages are worth almost 68,000 lei. The local authorities gave assurances that, in a short time, they would cover the expenses borne by people to repair their dwellings.
„The people said they were worried because of the high prices, lack of jobs and low incomes. I told them that the governance did it utmost, in the conditions in which we have a war at the border and an economy weakened by more crises. I was saddened by the fact that not everybody understands what is happening in the neighbor country and that Russia is guilty of these misfortunes. In these complicated times, we must remain united and fight the misinformation as efficiently as possible,’’ Maia Sandu stressed.
According to the head of state, this unjust war and the attacks against civilians must stop. ‘’Moldova condemned Russia’s aggression in Ukraine from the very first day. We want all people to feel in safety in their homes, on streets, in their countries. All of us deserve to live in peace,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
