Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - The National Art Museum of Moldova, in cooperation with Goethe-Zentrum, today inaugurated an exhibition titled 100 Beste Plakate 21 (100 Best Placards 21). The exhibition resulted from a contest launched back in 1966, when the best placards of the year were nominated in the German Democratic Republic for the first time.
In the beginning of the event, the director of the Goethe German Centre, Corina Garla, said the exhibition was at its third edition in Chisinau.
”The exhibition started its itinerary in Berlin in last June and is in Chisinau now, in parallel, in Vienna as well; exactly what you see here will follow its way to Timisoara and Bucharest. I reiterate that, in this way, Chisinau aligns and is included in an international cultural circulation of visual arts and graphic design. The exhibition is valuable and important, as, on the one hand, it presents up-to-date tendencies in terms of graphic design, and on the other hand, it can serve as source of inspiration for a wide range of professionals in the field, beginning with students and up to free-lance employees and those with a richer experience. The today’s event is part of a string of events carried out on the occasion of those 15 years of work of the Goethe-Zentrum in Moldova,’’ Corina Garla said.
As many as 540 people participated in the contest of the current edition with 2008 placards in all (888 individual posters and 325 series of posters). The selection of the 2021 year comprises 39 best placards from Germany, 54 from Switzerland and seven ones from Austria.
The exhibition, 100 Best Placards 21, is organized in Chisinau by Goethe-Zentrum, in cooperation with the National Art Museum of Moldova and with the support of Goethe-Institut Romania, Austria’s Embassy in Chisinau and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. It will be opened till 13 January 2023.
