Moldovan fine artist exhibits works at Constantin Brancusi Exhibition Centre from Chisinau

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - An anniversary painting exhibition titled, Tradition, by fine artist Mihail Statnii today was inaugurated at the Chisinau-based Constantin Brancusi Exhibition Centre. The event is occasioned by the fine artist’s 80th birthday anniversary.
Attended by MOLDPRES, Mihail Statnii said that this was a retrospective exhibition and comprised 151 works made during 1985-2022 ‘’More works of the exhibition were connected with our traditions during the winter holidays, at Christmas, New Year and then the weaving of Moldovan carpets. In 2019, I was in Venice, where I was impressed by the local Carnival and I have a string of works on this subject,’’ Statnii said.
In the beginning of the event, the head of the Moldovan Fine Artists’ Union, Florina Breazu, said Mihail Statnii was one of the artists pillars of the national culture, educated on a period when the cultural interferences were oriented more to the East.
Mihail Statnii was born in the Beleavințî (Ghilavăț) commune, northern Briceni district, on 9 November 1942. In 1968, he graduated from the Alexandru Plamadeala Fine Arts College from Moldova and in 1975 – the Academy of Fine Arts from St. Petersburg (Russia). In 1976, Statnii became member of the Moldovan Fine Artists’ Union and in 2000 – member of the UNESCO International Association of Art. In 2021, he was awarded the honorific title of Master in Arts. Mihail Statnii staged personal exhibitions in Moldova, Romania, Turkey, the USA and other countries.
The exhibition will be opened till 20 November.
