Meeting of Parliamentary Assembly of Moldova, Poland to be held in Chisinau next week

Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - The eighth Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Moldova and Poland will be held in Chisinau on 7 November. The session will be inaugurated by the two co-chairpersons, Deputy Parliament Speaker Mihail Popsoi and Deputy Marshall of Poland’s Sejm Ryszard Terlecki.   

According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the process of Moldova’s European integration following the getting of the status of country candidate for accession to EU and the assistance on behalf of Poland, including within the bilateral economic and development cooperation, are among the most important subject on the agenda. The lawmakers from the two countries will also discuss security issues, especially the energy security of Moldova and Poland, in the context of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.    

In the end of the meeting, the sides will sign a joint declaration of the Parliamentary Assembly and afterwards the co-chairmen, Mihail Popsoi and Ryszard Terlecki will give a news conference.

The Moldova – Poland Parliamentary Assembly is an inter-parliamentary consultative body, set up for the elaboration of common viewpoints as to projects of bilateral interest.

The Assembly convenes at plenary sessions once per year, alternately in Poland and Moldova. The seventh session took place in Warsaw on 5-8 December 2021. The Parliamentary Assembly of Moldova and Poland was set up in July 2011.
