Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - A former head of department of the State Fiscal Service (SFS) is prosecuted in a criminal file opened for illicit enrichment and misrepresentation.
According to the National Anticorruption Centre, the civil servant would have got, along with his family members, movables and immovables the value of which exceeds their incomes.
On the period 2014-2021, the declared earnings of the suspect and his family members amounted to about 2.2 million lei (about 110,000 euros). Thus, following an analysis of the declaration of wealth and personal interests of the civil servant’s family, the criminal prosecution body established a substantial difference between the incomes declared and the one held in reality.
Following the investigations, law-enforcers found out that, on the concerned period, the suspect’s mother would have acquired real estate, among which a flat, a house and three subsidiary constructions, worth over 3 million lei. According to official database, the woman did not record taxable incomes in 2015-2021. Thus, the difference between the value of the assets declared and the unjustified incomes got by the civil servant and his family members is about 4 million lei.
A criminal file was opened against the former head of SFS department.
