Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - The problems and needs of Ukrainian refugees, sheltered in settlements of the south Moldova Gagauz-Yeri Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA Gagauz-Yeri), were discussed at a today’s working meeting in Comrat. More organizations providing assistance to vulnerable refugees, among which Caritas Czech Republic, brought together at the event.
Among the urgent needs identified, specific for the cold season, there were the supply with medicines, clothes for winter and financial support for heating dwellings.
The Caritas Czech Republic country director, Vasile Vasiliev, said that, on the next period, the refugees would benefit from vouchers for medicines and for warm clothes.
„Also, the support in cash, worth 2,200 lei (over 100 euros), monthly distributed and provided to eligible refugees from UTA Gagauzia, is to be supplied by another 700 lei – an aid for heating dwellings during winter,’’ Vasiliev added.
