Over 8,000 homes purchased through First Home Program

Chisinau, Nov. 8 /MOLDPRES/- Through the First Home government program, 8,081 homes have been purchased so far. The total amount of loans granted by banks is 4.42 billion lei, and the total value of active guarantees is 2.1 billion lei.

According to the Ministry of Finance, out of the 8,081 beneficiaries, 5,546 are families, and 2,535 are unmarried young people. The average age of applicants is 31.5 years.

The average value of the homes purchased is 640.51 thousand lei, and the average area of the homes purchased through the Program is 60.89 square meters.

Out of the total number of homes procured, 7,539 are located in urban areas, and 542 - in rural areas. 7320 purchased homes are apartments, and 761 - individual houses.

A citizen of the Republic of Moldova, aged between 18 - 50, who is officially employed at a state institution or private company in the country and has income from official sources can be a beneficiary of the program. The share of the initial own participation is 5% of the purchase price of the home.
