Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today had a meeting with a delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain, led by Pau Mari Klose, on a visit to Chisinau on these days. The officials discussed the bilateral agenda, Moldova’s European integration, Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the energy crisis triggered in this context, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The parliament speaker appreciated the openness of the Spanish authorities towards Moldova and the Moldovans from Spain, as well as the progress made on the much expected bilateral agreement in the social security sector, signed on 21 July 2022. ‘’We want to sign, as soon as possible, an agreement on cutting the roaming tariffs, which will give possibility of a better connection with Spain,’’ Igor Grosu said.
The speaker thanked the Spanish authorities for the support for Moldova’s European integration. Grosu noted that the country was honoured and would host the second meeting of the European Political Community next year. The event will probably coincide with the period when Spain will hold the Rotating Presidency of the EU’s Council in June 2023. ‘’We further rely on Spain’s support s in our European integration process and the joint meetings with the parliamentary commissions will give possibility to advance on our schedule of reforms even quicker,’’ the parliament speaker stressed.
