Chisinau, Nov. 18 /MOLDPRES/- New ministers Dumitru Alaiba and Rodica Iordanov were sworn in today in front of President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița.
The head of state thanked the former ministers and wished success to the new officials. "Everyone has worked honestly and it is not easy to take on almost non-functional institutions. But the changes must be made in time: "The right man in the right place". The government has recently had to face many unprecedented challenges. The war affected the well-being of every citizen, created hardships, endangered the security and future of the country. The impact of the crisis is severe. We are not here just to put out fires, but we also have to work for the economic regeneration of the country. The business must respect the law, but it must also be respected. We are in great need of foreign investments and there is interest in our country, but we need serious efforts to promote the country", said Sandu.
At the same time, the president said she expects courageous actions and progress from the ministers.
Gavrilita congratulated the new ministers for their courage and wished them a productive activity. "Mr. Alaiba, I want to congratulate you for your courage, because knowing the economic situation you are ready to manage, but also to make regulatory changes, to reduce the cost of doing business, the difficulties between the economic agent and the state. You must have open communication with the business environment, if you have it I am sure you will prevent many situations. Mrs. Iordanov, I worked with you, I know that you know the situation in the sector and the priorities", Gavrilița said.
Dumitru Alaiba is a deputy, and in 2009-2013 he worked in Filat Government. Later, for three years, he led the Economic Council under the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova. He was appointed for the position of Minister of Economy on Wednesday in the Government meeting, after the resignation of Sergiu Gaibu.
