Customs Service collected over 642 million lei last week

Chisinau, Nov. 21 /MOLDPRES/- On November 14 - 20, the Customs Service collected over 642 million lei (about 32.1 million euros) to the state budget.
According to the Customs Service, during this period, natural persons introduced goods whose value in customs exceeds the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to more than 17 million lei were collected, which represents 2.7% of the total amount.
At the same time, during the past week, 10,620 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport constituted 71,136 crossings.
In the fight against fraud, 64 violations of customs legislation were found and fines in the amount of over 296 thousand lei were applied. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected about 29.4 billion lei to the state budget, 19.1% more compared to the same period last year.
