Moldovan, OSCE officials broach cooperatin

Chisinau, Nov. 23 /MOLDPRES/- During the third edition of the Moldova Support Platform, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu held a meeting with Secretary General of the OSCE Helga Maria Schmid, and approached the cooperation of the Republic of Moldova with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and its institutions, the MAEIE press service has reported.
The officials exchanged views on the current state of the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, and noted the negative impact of Russia's war against Ukraine, including on the negotiations between the two banks of the Dniester.
"We reiterated the authorities' stance on the peaceful, diplomatic settlement of the Transnistrian conflict based on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country within internationally recognized borders, with a special status for the Transnistrian region.
I highlighted the assistance provided by the organization in the process of reforms promoted by the government, in several areas such as: fighting corruption, good governance, human rights, electoral process and freedom of press," said Popescu.
