Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and Georgian Foreign Affairs Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, on a visit to Chisinau, have discussed the security in the region, Russia’s war against Ukraine, the refugees’ crisis and the European integration, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The speaker referred to the current situation in Moldova and the interruptions of power supply nationally, which represent a consequence of the war in Ukraine. The direct attacks against the country’s energy security prompts Moldova even more to lay the foundations of its energy independence, Igor Grosu said. ‘’Our country is directly hit by the war at the border. Most people, yet, are aware of what is happening and prove an impressive resistance and cohesion,’’ the parliament speaker said.
Igor Grosu gave assurances that, despite the challenges, Moldova resolutely moved towards the European integration and this way to the free and developed world had been chosen by the citizens. ‘’We hope to cooperate including in this field and, in parallel, to enhance the economic relations of our countries. We have many common challenges, especially on this not at all easy period,’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu added.
