Volumes of electric energy provided by Romania to Moldova increased

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ - The enterprise Energocom stock company today informed that it had increased the volumes of electric energy purchased directly from producers of Romania. Thus, as of 25 November, the Oltenia Energy Complex will provide Moldova with 20 MWh 24 hours at a price of 900 Romanian lei/MWh.    

According to the quoted source, as of 1 December 2022, Energocom will buy from OMV Petrom stock company 80 MW/h 24 hours, which is by 30 MWh more than at present. The price of the energy under this contract is of 450 Romanian lei/MWh. Also, starting from 1 December 2022, the Craiova Thermo-Electric Power Station (CET Craiova) will deliver 5 MWh at a price of 1,000 Romanian lei/MWh.    

„Moldova daily buys from Romania about 2,000 MWh of electricity and on the days off – 2,500 MWh, at present, based on the bilateral contracts. Starting from 1 December, these volumes will increase to 2,700 MWh on working days and to 3,200 MWh in the week-end. Moldova’s needs represents about 13,000 MWh per day, of which the electric energy generated from domestic resources (local CETs and renewable sources) represents about 2,500 MWh, i.e. about 20 per cent of the consumption,.’’ Energocom said. According to the enterprise, about two thirds of the needed amount of electric energy is daily bought at the exchange of Romania, managed by the state company OPCOM.    OPCOM.

Also, Energocom holds negotiations, in order to conclude direct contracts also with other energy companies of other states, such as Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia. ‘’In Romania, there are certain limits dealing with an emergency ordinance, because of which long-term contracts cannot be concluded with other prices than the exchange ones; yet, we are looking for solutions and are in permanent discussions with Romanian colleagues. At the same time, on the last days, the acts were submitted to the get the licence in Bulgaria, which will allow us registering on the local exchange and conclude advantageous contracts,’’ the acting director of Energocom.
