Chisinau, Dec. 1 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu today conveyed a congratulatory message to all Romanians on Romania's National Day, the presidential press service has reported.
"On 1 December it is a joy to celebrate Romania together. Let's feel gratitude towards the good things done by Romanians at home and everywhere in the world, and let's share why we love Romania", said the head of state in the message addressed to the reception organized on 29 November by the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau.
Maia Sandu said that Romania is loved in the Republic of Moldova for many things, but especially for the shoulder we can rely on when we are in trouble and for the immense and unconditional help offered to our citizens. "Romania is loved for the Romanian language, in which I grew up as in a parental home, and for the common history - a history of courage and the fight for freedom," the president said.
The head of state also thanked Romania for the strong support given to our country in joining the European Union. "Moldova looks towards Romania with gratitude and hope. We are confident we are on the right path and we will succeed in bringing Europe home to us, including with the help of Romania. On both sides of the Prut, people want to live in peace and freedom, in a common prosperous European home. We thank Romania for staying close to us", said Maia Sandu.
