We are interested in strengthening our resilience, including through NATO - Moldovan deputy premier says

Chisinau, Dec. 1 /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu sent a statement after the completion of the NATO ministerial meeting in Bucharest, the MAEIE press service has reported.

"The first NATO ministerial meeting to which our country was invited ended in Bucharest. It is a diplomatic success of Romania, of Romanian diplomacy and of Minister Bogdan Aurescu, who hosted this prestigious international event", he said.

The Moldovan official mentioned three essential things from this visit, which once again denote an unprecedented solidarity of the free world for our country:

- Moldova is a neutral country, but neutrality does not mean self-isolation, demilitarization, or indifference to what is happening in the world;

- We are interested in strengthening our resilience including through NATO, the strongest political-military alliance in the world;

- On the international arena, we live in a difficult region, affected by Russia's brutal aggression against Ukraine, which has dramatic consequences for our country.

"We need all the solidarity of our friends to overcome the multiple challenges we face.

I was happy to discuss on the sidelines of the meeting with a group of Moldovan journalists, who were at the ministerial office during a study visit hosted by NATO, and to give interviews to the Romanian and international media: TVR, Associated Press, ZDF , Digi24, Radio Free Europe Romania, Euronews Romania, Voice of America and Antena 3 CNN.

I am grateful for all the effort in organizing the visit both by the colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Embassies of our country in Bucharest and Brussels, as well as the colleagues from the Ministry of Defense, who took care of the success of this first participation of the Republic of Moldova in NATO ministerial meeting in Bucharest", said Popescu.
