Moldsilva Forestry Agency of Moldova to supply market with more than 50,000 Christmas Trees

Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldsilva Forestry Agency, through territorial forestry entities, in December will propose 50,400 Christmas trees on the domestic market. As many as 45,100 of these trees will be of spruce fir variety, 5,300 pine trees and additionally, 6,100 branches will be proposed. The trees’ height varies from one metre up to five metres and more.
To supply the current demands, 17 forestry enterprises are involved are involved in the sale of Christmas trees and the biggest volumes are available in subdivisions from Straseni, Hancesti, Calarasi, Edinet, Nisporeni and Tighina.
The managers of the forestry entities of the Moldsilva Agency established the production/selling price of the Christmas trees proceeding from the overall expenses borne for their growing and maintaining. ‘’Thus, on average, the price is about 72 lei for one metre and maybe even small, if people opt for a tree of 2-3 metres and more. The Christmas trees will be released wholesale directly from nurseries of forestry entities and retail from warehouses of these enterprise (the contact data of the territorial forestry entities can be found here: www.silvicultura.md),” Moldsilva said.
The Moldsilva Agency reminds that the guard and protection of forests was intensified on this period. Raids are organized in the forest fund, with the involvement of employees of forestry enterprises, Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and Police Inspectorates from the territory. Illicit cuttings of conifers, including spruce fir and pine tree, from the first fund or other green areas, is punished with fines worth from 50 to 100 conventional units for private people and legal entities run the risk to pay from 300 to 500 conventional units or carry out non-remunerated work for the benefit of the community.
