Moldovan cabinet approves new fire protection rules

Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/ - The objects in the fields of agriculture, medicine, social and industry sectors must be compulsorily endowed with autonomous smoke detectors and for signaling the concentration of carbon monoxide, in order to ensure the anti-fire protection. The cabinet of ministers today approved the general fire protection rules in Moldova.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the document is set to ensure the security of people, reduce the risks of fires in the private sector and the dwellings’ one, diminish the material damages, as well as to adjust the national security rules to the international standards.
Data by the National Inspectorate for Emergency Situations shows that the fires caused in dwellings (houses, households and their annexes) account for about 71 per cent of all fires registered in Moldova.
