Consular taxes to be cut in Moldova

Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today voted for the cutting of the consular taxes imposed on Moldova’s citizens.
Thus, the taxes related to the providing of the consular services were removed. Also, the taxes established for the processing and issuance of the passport of citizen of Moldova, for the consular actions in the citizenship field, the registration of the civil status acts, the filling in of notary acts, consular super-legalization and other consular actions were reduced by 50 per cent. Besides, the lawmakers removed the consular taxes related to the processing of the string of documents for getting the passport of Moldova’s citizen, for the people who did not turn 18 years. As a result, the consular taxes paid by the Moldovan citizens for purchasing a service were cut by 60 per cent.
So far, when asking for a service through consular services, Moldova’s citizens have been paying an overall costs made up of more components: the tax collected by the Public Services Agency, consular tax and the related expenses.
